THE last six days, since learning of Martin Vereker‘s sudden death, have been in equal measure heartbreaking and heartwarming and that latter feeling is down to all of you.

We at St. Tiernan’s Cycling Club wish to thank each and every member of the cycling community who came out to show support for Martin and who contacted us in some way to offer condolences, stories and comfort.

Your messages and your presence on Monday and Tuesday at Martin’s funeral have helped to show what a respected and loved person Martin was, and it has given his family a greater understanding of how important he was to cycling.

We continue to be proud of him for that and hope in the New Year to find some way for all of us to commemorate him.
