St. Tiernan’s wins Race Around Ireland
St. Tiernan’s Cycling Club has won the 8-person category of the 2,150km Race Around Ireland in a record time of 73hrs and 59mins, achieving an average speed 29.68km/h.
This is the second fastest speed recorded by an 8-man team in the race and the fastest speed recorded by a mixed team.
The team finished around 7hrs ahead of the second-placed 8-person team, the Average Josies, and just a few hours behind the 4-person Average Joes, making them the third team to finish this year’s Race Around Ireland.
