Super Kerrane in Randonneur ranks

HELEN KERRANE, made famous on these pages by her heroic performance on the Red Line, Red Lane Audax, has joined the ranks of the Super Randonneurs.

Kerrane, awarded St. Tiernan’s Tourer of the Year in 2014, was added to a group of just 16 riders when completing the required 200km, 300km, 400km and 600km audaxes to become one of Ireland’s Super Randonneurs.

Her journey began with the up-coming Angel of Mons, a 200km ride, and she went on to complete the 3 Provinces 300, REK 400 and the Red Lane 600.

Kerrane, who is targetting Paris-Brest-Paris this year, said: “Thanks lads! I’ll be looking at the STCC tourer award on the new bike for the rest of this year. Louis’s nearly finished building it. Meanwhile, I’ve completed the first 200 of this year.”

Kerrane is of course referring to the slick personalised headset cap she got at St. Tiernan’s annual awards in October for being the Tourer of the Year. Chapeau Helen!
